Indigo INK - wearable art for indigo people
Namaste!

Indigo Ink are interested in spreading beauty, truth, light, and love throughout the world by creating wonderful tie dyed rainbows for people to wear.

Tie dye is an ancient art form used by our ancestors in many parts of the old world. Along with beads, shells, feathers, and other ornamentation, our ancestors tie dyed.

Archaeologists have discovered that tie dye was used as long as 5 thousand years ago in civilisations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, and India. Early dyes were extracted from roots, flowers, leaves, bark, and berries. These include blackberries, lichen, safflower, marigold, onion, red cabbage, sage, and indigo. Whilst these early dyes are still used in some cultures today, modernity has allowed for the development of synthetic dyes that are safe, permanent, efficient, and remain vibrant for a long period of time.
